Process

Bright Bar Manufacturing Process is done To achieve unbeatable surface quality and mechanical properties, the cold drawn process is applied on hot rolled products. The foremost step of the cold drawn process is shot blasting, wherein, surface scales on hot rolled products are eliminated with the use of iron particles. The shot-blasted hot-rolled steel then passes through the cold drawing die to get their final size. Also, depending on the grade of steel, it is a common practice to apply a suitable heat treatment on hot rolled products before initiating cold drawing.

At NSP, we make sure that only the best quality steel bright bar products are supplied to the customers, which is why we make use of the best technologies to achieve the ultimate results. Shotblasting gives our products a competitive edge because of their enhanced quality, aesthetic and surface finish.

Manufacturing Process for Bright bars

The bars are made from Ingots or billets and are processed after giving required reduction ratio and discarding hot top and bottom for homogeneity. They are processed by hot rolling.

These bars are further heat treated by:– Annealing, Normalizing, Stress Relieving, Spheroidizing Annealing

Then the bars are bright by:- Shotblasting for descaling pitty surface, Cold drawing (for upto 100mm), Reeling and starightening

They are also offered in:- Cut to length, Multiple lengths

Quality Check of Bright Bars

Following checks are conducted in bars and reported in the TEST CERTIFICATE as per customer requirement

– Surface inspection (Magnetic Particle Inspection) is carried out of each bar end to end
– Positive Material Identification using XRF to certify in process chemistry of each bar
– 100% dimensional verification using calibrated verniers and Go No-Go gauges
– Step down testing
– Ultrasonic Testing for internal defects
